We take a look ahead to Tuesday's Champions League Group E clash between Maribor and Liverpool.

Maribor:

The Slovenians will be without striker Luka Zahovic after he took a tumble in training and damaged a metal plate in his foot that had been inserted after he injured himself back in August. Defender Denis Sme is also expected to miss out, though his absence should be offset by the return of Marko Suler from a foot problem.

Liverpool:

Loris Karius will start in goal for the 'Reds' in place of Simon Mignolet, as has been the case for the German in the Champions League so far this season. Philippe Coutinho could be moved deeper, allowing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to play out wide after impressing Jurgen Klopp during his cameo appearance against Manchester United on Saturday. Joe Gomez returns from suspension at right back but is likely to be rested, with Trent Alexander-Arnold taking his place. Liverpool boss Klopp has ruled out wholesale changes, saying that only 'one or two' tweaks will be made to his squad. Nevertheless he will have to continue to do without Sadio Mane, Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana, despite the later returning to Melwood for the final phase of his recovery from a thigh injury earlier this week.

Did you know? This will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two sides.

Maribor's only victory in eight games against English sides came in the shape of a 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic in the group stages of the 2013/14 Europa League.

Possible Line-ups:

Maribor: Handanovic; Milec, Rajcevic, Suler, Viler; Kramaric, Kabha, Vrhovec, Bohar; Ahmedi; Tavares.

Liverpool: Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Lovren, Robertson; Can, Henderson, Coutinho; Salah, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Firmino.
