Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the departure of star striker Erling Haaland to Manchester City. Borussia Dortmund coach Marco Rose challenged the Norwegian ahead of next season's Champions League clash: "I hope we meet again.

After months of uncertainty and negotiations, Manchester City have managed to sign Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker from Borussia Dortmund will leave Germany to join the Sky Blues ranks from next season. The German club's coach, Marco Rose, is already looking to the future without the striker.

"We will not stop playing football after Erling leaves us. He decided to take his next step with City and we wish him all the best. He gave us goals, energy, he is a player who always wants to win. I think he can still improve. He is still young," said the German coach.

Haaland will leave Signal Iduna Park after scoring 85 goals in 88 games in all competitions at the age of just 21. His coach reminded him that they could meet again in the next Champions League: "We'll meet again. I hope we'll meet again.

The German side soon tied up his replacement. This is none other than Karim Adeyemi, who left RB Salzburg for around 38 million euros and signed a five-year contract until the summer of 2027. In addition, Niklas Sule and Nico Schlotterbeck have already been confirmed.
