The football icon announces his interest in the coach job.

The Argentinian squad is currently looking for a new coach.

Diego Maradona wishes to take this position. The 55-year-old, who hasn't been coaching since 2012, wants to work again.

Maradona wants to manage the Argentina team one more time. He's been coaching the team from 2008 to 2010 but had to quit after Argentina lost against Germany in the quarter-finals.

He won the World Cup with Argentina in 1989 and hopes to repeat this moment.

Maradona told 'Fox Sports':

"Diego Simeone was not interested in the job for financial reasons. Money is not an issue for me.

"I would coach the national team for free.

"A lot of people seem to think I am an expensive coach. But what about Mourinho? And Ancelotti or Simeone? I don't know how expensive I am compared to these coaches.

"I am starting to miss coaching more and more. I miss working with the players and fighting with the journalists".
