FULL-TIME: Manchester United 4-0 Reading

United were silky-smooth and missed a barrage of chances as they clinched their eighth win in a row and put the FA Cup tie to rest. Rooney equalised Bobby Moore by scoring his 249th goal for the club, but Martial in the first and Rashord in the second half stole a bit of the limelight.

Fellaini misses big chance

The Belgian international could have made it 5 for United with just over six minutes remaining to the final whistle, but his shot was deflected almost on the line

Marcus Rashford had not scored since September and now he got two goals within foru minutes. It was an embarassing moment for Al-Habsi, who failed to clear a back pass from Moore and almost tripped on the ball. All the atentive Rashford had to do was run for the ball and hoof it in.

The youngster had previously misfired in front of an open goal but this time he did great to put away a sublime long pass by Carrick.

Rashford misses another big chance for United

The forward could have scored his first goal today but he failed to tap-in Rooney's low cross from the left in the 60th minute.

Rooney misses huge chance in 55th minute

Rooney missed the clearest chance of the game so far as well as his opportunity to score his milestone 250th goal for United, as he hit the ball from three meters from the goal line but aimed straight for Al-Habsi’s legs.

Second half under way

Reading have made a half-time substitution, with Jordan Obita replacing Tyler Blackett.

HALF-TIME: Manchester United 2-0 Reading

United have not been as dominant in the final 15 minutes of the first half and Reading enjoyed long spells of possession before the interval, but there is no doubt Mourinho's side are the far better team in this match. Rooney has scored his 249th goal for United to enter the history books but Martial has so far stole his thunder with a sublime display.

Mata effort deflected

Mata hit an excellent cut-back by Young in his stride but his shot was blocked by Evans, preventing United from scoring their third goal before half-time.

Martial threatens again

As we are approaching the first half hour of play, the Frenchman controls a long pass behind Reading's defence but his shot hits the outter side of the net

Following a corner for Reading, Martial gained the ball and run the length of the field but his shot was bloocked by Al-Habsi

Reading's first chance

It took Reading 21 minutes to make their first trip to the United box but it would have ended in a goal had Carrick not made a fantastic challenge to deny Kelly from tapping it in.

GOAL: Manchester United 2-0 Reading (Martial, 15 mins)

Martial repeated the effort from the left flank which produced United's first goal eight minutes previously, but this time he played the one-two with Rooney and floated the ball past Al-Habsi in the far corner.

Rooney has made club history

With his goal earlier, the English striker has joined Bobby Charlton as United's leading scorer in history.

Martial went on run from the left and passed back to Juan Mata who could not quite hit the ball but the oncoming Rooney found the back of the net.

Al-Habsi saves

Rooney received a long ball behind the Reading defence but his shot from a wide angle was blocked by the Reading goalkeeper
