It is worth bearing in mind that Benfica, his club, have turned down offers of around 50 million euros, so the Red Devils will have to offer much more than that. Their budget is easily big enough to spend that money, but the club will have to decide whether it is worth it.
The Uruguayan is giving more than enough reasons for no one to doubt of the quality he would bring to Old Trafford. Last season, he scored 14 goals in 44 matches and he has 21 in 26 so far this season. And with an important part of the season still ahead, he is quite likely to improve these stats.
