Man Utd can still shock the world-but only if they bleed for the shirt

The rivalry between the Manchester rivals is well documented. The only issue we have with it, is that during the last three decades it was a rarity that both teams were at the top of their game when facing each other.

During the era of Sir Alex Ferguson, United was the one that dominated. At the moment the City Group took over at the Blue part of Manchester, Sir Alex retired, and United started spiraling downward.

Yet, despite the recent struggles, the history cannot be erased. United played City for a staggering 196 matches, with the first one being played way back in 1881. The Red Devils are the more successful of the two city rivals winning 80 of their duels. The Citizens won 61 matches, while 55 ended in a stalemate. With an upcoming Manchester derby ahead of us, another page in the history of City and United rivalry will be written.

One of those who knows about the two team's rivalry and who has bled red throughout his career is French international, and Manchester United legend Patrice Evra. Patrice Evra Picks and Predictions are interesting ones, as he believes that the Red Devils can snatch a win at the Etihad  Stadium on Sunday. Not only that, Evra claims that if the players show more desire to win, better understanding of the shirt they wear, and find their fighting spirit, even more is achievable.

The former Manchester United, AS Monaco, and Juventus full back is an ambassador for online casino and sportsbook Stake, and in addition to predicting the Premier League matches, he is also here to promote the Exclusive Manchester Derby promotions, which you can get if you join the named platform. As far as the state of Manchester United goes, Evra thinks that head coach Ruben Amorim needs more time and that it should be given to him.

While Evra believes that there's quality in players such as Andre Onana, Benjamin Sesko, and others in the Manchester squad, despite the goalkeeper leaving the ranks of United, he would also love the scenario in which UTD got their hands on Alexander Isak or Gianluigi Donnarumma. Lastly, despite believing in Amorim and the players he has at disposal, Evra has doubts whether any of them would survive under Sir Alex Ferguson.

As far as the PL season goes, Patrice is hoping for the best for the Red Devils, but will wait and see what the year ahead carries. At the same time, he is sure that Arsenal will have another fine season that needs to end in silverware if Arteta is to miss sitting in a hot seat. Talking about other United rivals, Evra remains in awe at how much Liverpool has spent during the summer. Yet, for Evra, while money is important in today's game, no one can buy trophies, and expensive projects such as Liverpool's have fallen apart in the past too.

If you plan to wager on the upcoming Premier League weekend, it would be wise for any reader to take advantage of Exclusive Premier League Promotions, Stake is offering, considering that now that the international break is behind us, PL is going to go full throttle ahead.  As far as this week's games are considered, all eyes will be on the Manchester Derby.

City is entering the game as slight favourites with odds on their win being set at 1.75, while a win on United pays with 4.60 odds. When the game starts, all eyes will be set on Erling Haaland, who scored five goals for Norway during the last game vs. Moldova. It is hard to envision that Amorim's United will have an answer for the Norwegian striker. City started the year nicely with a 4:0 win vs. Wolves, before falling apart against Tottenham 0:2, and Brighton 1:2. While the Citizens went through a slight rebuild, and they're not as feared as before, the likes of Silva, Gundogan, Dias, Ake, Marmoush, Stones, Ait Nouri, Rodri, and Reijnders have enough quality to compete for the title this year too. Also, let's not forget Pep. If you plan to bet on PL this weekend, check out the odds on Stake.com, and you will find a winning combo no doubt.

As far as United goes, it is a team that is in the midst of a ten year rebuild. Every few years, they have a new coach and a new set of overpaid players who fail to play up to United standards of pre 2010s. While the Red Devils had a better start to the year than City, no one was convinced by their outings vs. Arsenal, Burnley, and Fulham. There's quality to be found in players such as Cunha, Mbeumo, Mount, Fernandes, de Ligt, Casemiro, Dalot, Yoro, and Shaw, but they just haven't clicked yet. For years now, United is a team deprived of team chemistry, and they simply cannot get back on track.

While City is entering this match as slight favorites, it is a derby at the end of the day, and United knows how to play their city rivals. The flares will burn on Sunday, and this is  a must watch TV if you love football. Unlike City, United doesn't have an European duel during the weekday, and their entire focus is going to be on the derby. As Patrice Evra said, if the United players learn how to bleed for the shirt, anything is possible. And anything starts with the Manchester derby.
