Man United enter race for Ipswich sensation Liam Delap
According to The Athletic, Manchester United have joined the race to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, with manager Ruben Amorim eyeing the young forward as a key addition to his squad.
Delap, 22, has been one of the standout performers at Ipswich Town this season, netting ten goals for his side. His aggressive playing style and relentless pressing have caught the attention of several top clubs, with United now emerging as serious contenders for his services, according to The Athletic.
Amorim is said to be in the market for a striker with a strong physical presence, and the 22-year-old's attributes fit the profile perfectly. However, securing the Ipswich star will not be straightforward. The Championship side-turned-Premier League underdogs are expected to demand a substantial fee, although their asking price could drop if they face relegation.
Manchester United will have to fend off competition from Chelsea, while Manchester City hold a £40 million buyback clause after selling him for £20 million last summer.
With current United forwards Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling for consistency, the club is actively scouting other attacking options. Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha are both being monitored, while Lille's Jonathan David remains on their shortlist.
