Paolo Maldini has not denied Barcelona's interest in Franck Kessie, he has done the opposite in fact. Milan's sporting director thinks it is "obvious" that the Catalan club are considering the player as his contract ends this year and he is yet to make any type of renewal agreement with Milan.

Franck Kessie's future remains a mystery. The Italian press reported that the AC Milan player has turned down a renewal deal at the club. This has spurred Barcelona into action in an attempt to lure him in.

Paolo Maldini, AC's sporting director, was questioned about the situation during an interview for 'Mediaset'. He declared that Kessie's agent has the renewal offer in his hands: "there are certain sticking points for the agent that we cannot come to an agreement on".

Moreover, Maldini did not shy away from speaking about Barcelona's interest: "Barca's interest in Kessie? It's obvious, as his contract is up and we don't have any type of agreement with him".

This statement does nothing to play down the rumours spreading about Kessie's possible arrival at the Camp Nou, as the player continues to dismiss the offers on the table from Milan.
