There were a lot of rumours that Harry Maguire would be on his way to Man Utd, and Jonny Evans thinks that he is good enough to play for the club.

The England defender won a lot of admirers for his performances at the World Cup with his national side, but was not able to get a move to a big club after returning from Russia this summer.

It is thought that Maguire himself wanted a move to Old Trafford, but Leicester dug their heels in and insisted that he stayed with the them.

One man who has benefitted from Maguire remaining at the club is Jonny Evans, who is now able to strike up a defensive partnership with him for the 'Foxes'.

Himself a former Man Utd defender, Evans has been impressed with his new team-mate and thinks he has what it takes to play for a team like the 'Red Devils'.

"Physically he’s got it and he’s good with the ball. His technique is fantastic and I think he proved that throughout the World Cup." Evans said of Maguire.

"If he went to any top club he would fit in no problem. There’s no reason why he couldn’t play for United. He’s got the ability to."

While Maguire will stay at Leicester for now, it remains to be seen if he will get a big move in January.
