Despite losing 3-0 to Barcelona to see their dreams of Champions League glory shatter helplessly, there appears to be a small consolation for Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois as Real Madrid are still keen to bring the pair to the Bernabeu.

They fell to a brace from the magic Lionel Messi and a thunderbolt from Ousmane Dembele, losing 4-1 on aggregate to a clinical Barcelona side, but things could still be rosy for the Chelsea duo.

Both Hazard and Courtois have been tipped to join Madrid's rebuilding process in the summer and, according to the 'Daily Mail', that doesn't look like it will change despite their disappointing performances on Wednesday evening.

Courtois was nutmegged twice by Messi for his two goals while Hazard failed to find the breakthrough for the 'Blues', but the two Belgians have shown consistently through the season that they belong at the top level of football.

Yes, Courtois was better during his spell at Atletico Madrid and his form has somewhat dipped in London, however, the Madrid board are confident that he would regain that spark once he returns to Spain, in a city already familiar to him.

As for Hazard, if 'Los Blancos' cannot secure Neymar's signature, he will be the next best alternative, scoring 15 goals already this season as well as providing 11 assists - something Madrid have lacked this season.

However, Chelsea's early exit may also work in Spanish giants' favour as they could probably land both players for a cheaper amount than if the London club had progressed further in the European competition.

Could be worth keeping an eye on these rumours as we approach the final few months of the season...
