'Marca' claim that Real Madrid do not think that the Royal Federation of Spanish Football (RFEF) will fine Ancelotti over his comments about the VAR after drawing to Girona in the League. In any event, the Madrid side are preparing his defence.

Real Madrid drew against Girona in what was a very controversial league game. There was a Marco Asensio handball which led to a penalty for the Catalan side, and to rub salt in the wound, Rodrygo committed a foul in the build-up to the goal which would have made it 2-1.This was not taken well by the Madrid side, or by Ancelotti.

The manager was clear and critical in his post-match assessment, which has given him a problem. The integrity department of the RFEF whether they should punish him for what he said, but, in any event, the Real Madrid powers do not think that anything will come of it, according to 'Marca'.

However, if they are wrong, they are already preparing his defence. They will use several examples of when players and managers got away punishment-free when they used similar words. That is Madrid's main argument.

The RFEF could, though, cite the example of Valencia capitan Jose Luis Gaya, who was punished for questioning whether the referees were biased this season. Anyway, Madrid are confident that this example is different, and that Ancelotti will not have to miss any match.
