Real Madrid completed the 6th La Liga matchday with a victory and as sole leaders. 'Los Blancos' played a great game in their new stadium and the fans were able to enjoy a thrashing from the front line.
The game started in their favour in the second minute, when Josep Gaya slipped and left Benzema alone in front of Manolo Reina. When it comes to Benzema, there can be no doubt that he is one of the best strikers in the world and he proved just that. Without being a bit nervous, he scored perfectly in front of the goalkeeper to score the first goal of the match.
Real Madrid's total control of the match continued until the second goal of the match in the 24th minute. This time, it was Marco Asensio who took advantage of being well placed in the six-yard box to take advantage of a Rodrygo pass and score his first goal of the game. But if this was going to be a drab affair, it seems Mallorca didn't agree.
Just a minute after Asensio's goal, in the 25th minute, Take Kubo was the cleverest of the 22 players and he quickly made his way into Courtois' box, assisted for Kang-In Lee who scored a left-footed strike from the edge of the area. Thibout could do nothing and Mallorca were thinking of an equaliser.
In the 78th minute Benzema finally got his brace and just a minute later the Bernabeu sent him off with a standing ovation, Jovic came on in his place. But to top it all off, Isco took advantage of a great cross from Vinicius into the box and scored unchallenged. The Spaniard managed to score for Madrid a year and a half later.
A midweek test for Ancelotti and his players, who will be happy with the result and will remain focused for the next game against Villarreal on 25th September. Real Madrid lead the table with 16 points.
