According to Portuguese newspaper 'A Bola', Real Madrid are seriously contemplating meeting Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak's €100million release clause.

It would take a world record fee for a goalkeeper to prise Oblak away from Atletico, after another successful season between the sticks saw the shotstopper concede just 28 goals in all competitions.

However, in today's inflated market, many would see it as a coup for 'Los Blancos', who would also enjoy getting one over on their city rivals.

Oblak is currently contracted to Athleti until 2021 but has caught the attention of other top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool.

The La Liga outfit are keen to tie the Slovakian down to an extension but it appears the hopes of that happening are dwindling.

It could open the door for Real to swoop but only once they sort out their managerial situation, with Zinedine Zidane's successor proving more elusive than planned.
