Lukaku says goodbye to Inter fans: 'I hope you understand'

Romelu Lukaku wrote a message to Inter Milan supporters in a letter published on social media after signing for Chelsea. The striker that he always gave his 100% when he played for the club and that he hopes the fans understand his decision to return to London.

Lukaku left Inter Milan, where he was one of the stars of the team, to return to Chelsea. This signing, which saw the Italians which more than 100 million euros, has now been made official and the striker said goodbye to his former supporters on social media. He asked them to understand his decision to leave. 

"Thank you... Thank you for making me and my family feel at home in Milano. Thank you for the unconditional support and love on a daily basis. Thank you for motivating me even more after the first season. The love and reception I first received at Malpensa airport was the start of a beautiful story," he wrote.

"I made it my mission to never let you down every time I wore the Inter shirt. I gave 100% in every training session and every game so that I could make you proud. Our first season ended in the toughest possible way, but you guys gave me the strength to continue to keep pushing and we did as a team," he continued.

"That's why we became champions together. I hope you understand my decision to move on to Chelsea. It's the opportunity of mu life and I think that it is, in this moment of my career, an opportunity I've always dreamed about. It's clear that I'll always be an Interista because, without you, I would not be the player or man I am today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," the Belgian concluded.
