Lucas Lima has signalled his intent to establish himself as a regular for Brazil after netting the equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Argentina on Friday.
The Selecao fell behind to a first-half strike from Ezequiel Lavezzi in Buenos Aires but the Santos midfielder rescued Dunga’s side by volleying home just before the hour mark at the Monumental.
And the 25-year-old, who was making his first start for Brazil, says he is delighted with the way he responded to giving the ball away in the lead up to Argentina’s opener.
"I played naturally [after Argentina’s goal],” he said.
“It was a silly move and gave them the chance of a counterattack, but I tried to stay cool and was rewarded with a goal.
The reward arrived when he reacted first to a Douglas Costa head that cannoned back of the crossbar, falling to execute a flying volley that was too powerful for Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero to keep out.
