Former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher thinks Mohamed Salah has earned the right to stay at Anfield. In his column for 'The Telegraph', the ex-player encouraged the Reds to look at his numbers and offer him a new deal. Otherwise, they will regret it.

Salah's contract at Liverpool runs until 2023 and seeing the amount of goals the Egyptian has scored, the board might have to seriously consider offering him a new contract.

That is what Jamie Carragher, one of Liverpool's best former footballer's thinks. "It would be a major error if went on and Salah ended up leaving for free," he wrote in his column in 'The Telegraph'.

However, he understands that Liverpool cannot just offer him everything the player wants: "I understand that it's not as easy as saying 'we're going to give him everything he is asking for."

In any case, Carragher is clear: the Reds right now have one of the best players in their history: "If someone wants to form the best XI of all time, Salah has to be in it. He has impressive stats for someone who is not a centre forward," he concluded.

At the moment, Salah has made 211 appearances for Liverpool and he scored a total of 133 goals. An amount, which, if they let him, will keep on increasing game by game.
