Now Liverpool have finished their season, they turn their full attention to next year, and the upcoming transfer market. The work has already begun behind the scenes and the club are looking to build a squad that can take them back to the Champions League next season.
The Reds have seemingly turned their attention to Barcelona's Jules Kounde. The young Frenchman is still yet to peak at the Spanish side, mostly because Xavi has been playing him as a right-back rather than in the centre.
'Daily Mirror' reported that Liverpool would be willing to offer 60 million euros for the French defender, which would go a long way to help Barca work within the remits of their 'Financial Fair-Play' plans.
But to sign the youngster, Jurgen Klopp's team would have to convince the player himself. Kounde declared recently that he had no intention of leaving Barcelona.
Over the last weeks, there had been reports that the Frenchman was unhappy with his position in Xavi's starting XI, but the defender took to social media to put the rumours to bed.
