Liverpool produced a dominant performance against 10 men after Ahmed Elmohamady was sent off for a deliberate handball.

Liverpool produced a free-flowing attacking display and Hull were lucky not to have conceded even more.

Adam Lallana opened the scoring for the Reds when he found the bottom corner after being fed the ball by Philippe Coutinho.

Just before the half hour mark, Hull went down to 10 men for the second week running after Elmohamady hanballed on the goal line. James Milner stepped up and fired in the subsequent penalty.

Lallana was centre of the action once again, as he then set up Sadio Mane who easily slotted past David Marshall in the Hull goal to give Liverpool a 3-0 lead at half-time.

Liverpool's dominance continued in the second half, but it was Hull who were the first to strike in the second 45 minutes.

David Meyler got a consolation goal for Phelan's side from a Robert Snodgrass corner, Hull's only shot on target in the whole game.

However, Liverpool responded immediately and Coutinho restored Liverpool's three goal advantage with a long range effort just one minute after Meyler's effort.

Klopp's side then got their second penalty and their fifth and final goal when Andy Robertson brought down Daniel Sturridge in the area. James Milner once again fired past David Marshall to hand Liverpool a 5-1 win.
