Chelsea 6-0 Qarabag - as it happened

Re-live Chelsea's 6-0 thrashing of Qarabag, following the action as it happened.

That's all for now at Stamford Bridge

Thanks for joining us!

It was never in doubt here.

'The Blues' were on top from the offset, and Qarabag struggle to offer any answer for Chelsea's attacking prowess. The Premier League champions will certainly be in for harder challenges in their European, but it was a solid start nevertheless.

FT: Chelsea 6-0 Qarabag

All over at the Bridge!

Qarabag almost have a goal!

Ndlovu is played onside by Rudiger, and cutting in he sees plenty of the goal. The ball is blazed over the bar, though.

Batshuayi will claim it's his goal!

Chelsea's sixth comes from pressure applied by Zappacosta on the right hand side, who delivers a great ball into the middle of the six yard box. Batshuayi gets a touch, but it's in off the hand of Medvedev ultimately.

Chelsea have a sixth!

Batshuayi's second!

It's a deserved goal for Batshuayi

The Belgian had been pushing all game, and finally nets with a driven low effort from the edge of the penalty area.

Five!

Batshuayi at last!

Chelsea's final change at Stamford Bridge

Goalscorer and vice-captain Azpilicueta is withdrawn for German international Rudiger.

Chelsea 4-0 Qarabag

Bakayoko has his first goal for Chelsea. The ball falls for the Frenchman in the box from a corner, and the midfielder's shot takes a deflection that lifts the ball over Sehic and in for a fourth.

Four for Chelsea!

Bakayoko!

It's a double change for Qarabag

Skipper Sadygov is replaced by Madatov, and Diniyev comes on for Garayev.

Willian hits the bar!

The Brazilian has been toying with the Qarabag defenders all night, and he hits the bar now as Chelsea seek a fourth.

It's all very comfortable for Chelsea

Qarabag are offering very little going forward. Meanwhile, the typically buzzing Kante is replaced by compatriot Bakayoko for Chelsea.

Here comes Hazard!

The Belgian is stripped down and on the field in the West London rain, replacing goalscorer Pedro.

Chelsea 3-0 Qarabag

Willian wins a freekick after a cynical foul by Guerrier. The ball is worked to Fabregas, whose cross is met by an Azpilicueta header for Chelsea's third.

It's three!

Azpilicueta!

A series of corners at the start of the second half

Chelsea picking up where they left off in the first half.

We're off again!

Chelsea kick off the second half.

Half time: Chelsea 2-0 Qarabag

A Pedro curler, and a speculative strike from Davide Zappacosta, have put Chelsea in the driving seat against Qarabag.

HT: Chelsea 2-0 Qarabag

The whistle goes!

And now Alonso tries his luck!

Eager to emulate Zappacosta, Alonso lets strike from 35 yard out but it's wildly over. One minute added on.

Chelsea seem to have slowed down slightly

After Qarabag were penned back in their penalty box for what seemed like an age, the Azerbaijani side have seen more of the ball since. Still no clear cut chances, though.

Qarabag have a corner

After their first foray forward some time, Qarabag win a corner. It comes back out to Pedro Henrique, who can only shoot at Courtois.

The second goal was always coming.

Zappacosta has been menacing down the right flank all half, and Chelsea have had plenty of possession in the Qarabag half.

Chelsea two goals to the good!

It's unclear whether he's meant it or not, but the lively Davide Zappacosta scores from some 30 yards out on the right touchline!

Goal!

Zappacosta!

Batshuayi hits the side netting.

More great play from the buzzing Willian sets up Batshuayi for a shot, but he's pushed wide and can only hit the side netting.

It's a yellow card for Gary Cahill.

A strong challenge from Chelsea's captain - who has just served a ban in the Premier League - draws the first yellow of the match.

The pressure doesn't cease from Chelsea.

It's a confident, professional start from Conte's men. If these are signs to go by, it could be a long night for Qarabag.

Chelsea go 1-0 up with a goal from Pedro.

It's pulled back to the edge of the box by Willian, and Pedro is on hand to expertly curl in!

GOAL!

Pedro!

Early shouts for a penalty!

Early pressure sees a corner swung in by Cesc Fabregas, with a penalty appeal turned down for a push on Christensen.

Kick off!

The teams emerge at Stamford Bridge!

The Champions League anthem blares out in West London for the first time in 18 months.

Despite five changes, Conte seems wary pre-match.

The Italian manager has spoken cautiously of a team he says he knows well, having encountered many of their players against Azerbaijan as Italy national team manager. "We must pay great attention. This type of game is a tricky game."

It's a first Azerbaijani appearance in the Champions League group stages!

Qarabag, title winners in Azerbaijan for the last four consecutive seasons, are Champions League debutants. They'll look towards talisman Dino Ndlovu, scorer of four goals in six Champions League qualifiers this season.

Hazard starts on the bench again.

Conte opts for Willian and Pedro on the wings, ahead of a spell of seven games in 21 days for 'The Blues'.

Elsewhere, it's a full debut for Davide Zappacosta after his move from Torino, and captain Cahill returns for the Blues.

The teams are in!

Chelsea: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahill; Zappacosta, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Willian, Batshuayi, Pedro.

Qarabag: Sehic; Medvedev, Sadiqov, Huseynov, Rzeznicak; Pedro Henrique, Michel, Qarayev, Richard, Guerrier; Ndlovu.
