The 23-year-old has been offered a new deal which doubles his current wages but his advisers believe he deserves more and are holding out for a bigger pay packet.

Jesse Lingard is stalling on signing a new Manchester United contract after being offered a new five-year deal worth £60,000-per-week, according to The Mirror.

The 23-year-old, who is currently on £30,000-per-week, is keen to stay at Old Trafford with the club eager for him to commit his long-term future to the club.

However, his advisers feel he is worth more than the current offer which is lower than the average wage at Manchester United and far below Harry Kane's new £100,000-per-week deal at Tottenham.

Lingard is in no hurry to sign a new deal and is holding out for more with contract negotiations set to continue.
