Robert Lewandowski is now the top foreign goalscorer in the Bundesliga. AFP

It's not everyday that you enter Bundesliga history, that is what Robert Lewandowski has managed to achieve today with his goal against Freiburg. His 199th goal in the Bundesliga, a number that has allowed the Polish international into the history books.

Lewandowski put the assist of Leon Goretzka into the back of the net in the 22nd minute with an unsaveable volley to enter Bundesliga history. The goal was a historic one as no other foreign player in the Bundesliga has more than the Polish striker's formidable total of 199. 

Lewandowski has bagged 181 goals in 231 matches in all competitions for Bayern Munich, statistics that significantly improve on his 103 goals that he scored with former side Borussia Dortmund. With the goal today, Lewandowski also extends his lead at the top of the goalscoring charts in the Bundesliga this season, 4 ahead of Marco Reus and Luka Jovic.

Lewandowski has 31 goals inall competitions this season, with 9 assists in his 36 matches this season for the Bavarian club. It is fair to say that Lewandowski is now a living legend in the Bundesliga.
