Jurgen Kohler, former Bayern and Dortmund player, spoke to 'Sport1' about Bayern's season and how they've got themselves into the 2nd place spot they're in. He blames the management for the departure of David Alaba and cites it as Bayern's biggest mistake.

The final day of the Bundesliga approaches and the title race has come to do the wire. Dortmund currently sit two points above Bayern Munich ahead of the last game so both teams have a lot riding on today. Dortmund have to possibility to end Bayern's decade of dominance with a first domestic title since 2012, and Bayern could add an 11th straight title to their trophy case.

Jurgen Kohler, former defender at both teams, sat down with 'Sport1' to talk about the title race. His biggest criticism of Bayern in recent years was the departure of defender David Alaba, who left the club for Real Madrid two seasons ago.

"David Alaba should never have been sold. That was Bayern's biggest mistake in recent years. He was an important figure in the system.", he stated. Alaba played 12 seasons with Bayern, before moving to Madrid last season. He's bagged himself 5 goals and 7 assists in the last two years with the Spanish giants.

Although he was critical of the decision to let Alaba go, Kohler did acknowledge Bayern's impressive domination of the Bundesliga: "I take my hat off to Bayern ... The same goes for Barça, Real Madrid and other big clubs. The Bavarians were well managed for ten years."

This year's title will be decided on Saturday and for the first time in years, it's truly all to play for. Dortmund take on Mainz 05 and Bayern travel to Koln
