Clement Lenglet's dismissal was the one piece of bad news for Barcelona in the win over Getafe. The central defender was given a second yellow for a foul and was once again dismissed by Jesus Gil Manzano, the same referee that sent him off against Girona last season.
Barcelona got their first away win of the season at Getafe, but it came at a cost.
In the 47th minute, the Frenchman got booked for breaking down a counterattack and eight minutes later, his game was over when Lenglet went in hard and low in the eyes of the referee. Gil Manzano gave him his second booking and the Barca man had to leave the park.
This is not the first time this referee has sent off Clement Lenglet. Back in September of last year, Gil Manzano showed Lenglet a straight red for an elbow in Pere Pons' face after a VAR review. The sending off was heavily criticised by Gerard Pique among others.
The worst thing for Valverde is that the defender will miss the Sevilla clash at the Camp Nou. He has been key for the coach all season and he has played every minute of the match he has started.
