His interventions were vital to winning the Premier League for the first time in the 2015-16 season. That led to him playing in the Champions League with Leicester City and reaching the quarter-finals of it.
At the age of 35, Schmeichel will sign a new contract which will see him go to Nice for the next two seasons. In fact, his current coach Lucien Favre was the main person to support his signing.
The Denmark international made more than 500 appearances in England, where is a role model for many. That is also the case at Leicester. Last season, he made 51 appearances and kept 20 clean sheets.
