Leicester City midfielder Nampalys Mendy won't be able to play during the next five weeks after undergoing a surgery on his ankle.

The new arrival injured his ankle in August in his Premier League debut against Arsenal. Mendy joined Leicester one month before for €15 million from Nice. He had an akle surgery and is expected to return in five weeks.

Ranieri told 'Daily Mail': "Mendy was unlucky. In the last training session he had a little fracture of the bone. I think today (Monday) he is in surgery just to clean this little fragment of bone out. It depends how long, it could be four weeks or five weeks. I don't know".
