Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has hit out at the new regime in charge of the club after he was relieved of his duties as goalkeeping coach.

The decision to part ways with Lehmann was revealed on Tuesday as Arsenal announced a number of changes to their coaching staff, though long-serving coach Steve Bould was kept on.

Upon hearing the news, Lehmann took to Twitter, sarcastically suggesting that a coach from the club's 'invincible' title-winning season was now surplus to requirements.

"Dear Arsenal fans, I am sorry to leave the club after only one year again. It was a good experience working with the players as one of the assistant-coaches. But the attitude from our 2004-group is not needed there anymore," Lehmann wrote.

Meanwhile, Bould will be joined as assistant first-team coach by Juan Carlos Carcedo, who has followed Unai Emery everywhere since they first teamed up at Almeria.
