This Friday, UD Las Palmas held its general meeting in which it reported the surplus it had last season, almost two million euros despite the COVID-19 crisis. In addition, it revealed that it has already received eight million euros from the transfer of Pedri to FC Barcelona.

It's December, the last month of the year, and clubs often take the opportunity to do some math and find out how the season has gone. Las Palmas brought to light how their coffers are doing.

The financial year of the 2019-20 campaign showed a profit of 1,802,062 euros after taxes, within a budget that reached 29,365,000 euros of income, according to the accounts that were unanimously approved with 75.01 percent of shares present or represented.

The general meeting also approved the budget for the current 2020-21 season, which amounts to 23,079,000 euros.

Ramírez later stated in a press conference that last year's surplus could have been much higher, almost eight million euros, as he estimates the loss of income as a result of the pandemic at six million.

The president of the Sports Union also assured that the club has already received eight million euros for the departure of Pedri to FC Barcelona, five for the transfer and three from extras on the players contract.

Ramírez had stated last summer that if all the extras stipulated in the sale of the player to the Catalan club were met, the overall figure to be received by the UD Las Palmas could exceed 30 million euros.
