Despite finishing the Bulgaria match with a back complaint, Lamine Yamal returned to training on Saturday for Spain's penultimate session before facing Turkey in Konya.
Lamine Yamal proved in the latest training session with the Spain national team, at the Buyuksehir Belediy Stadium in Konya, that he is in perfect condition to play against Turkey in the second match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying phase, having overcome slight back problems.
Spain concluded their brief preparations for the clash against Turkey, a match in which they will contest top spot in the group, with all the players called up by Luis de la Fuente at his disposal. Among them was Lamine Yamal, who, after a day of recovery following the game in Sofia against Bulgaria, trained normally.
He was substituted with a back problem that he had been carrying since the last match with Barcelona, but after the match, De la Fuente and the doctors played it down. On the day that the coach reunited the starters with the substitutes, Lamine Yamal was just another player.
At the venue for Sunday's match against Turkey, where a heated atmosphere is expected, a charming Buyuksehir Belediyesi with the pitch in perfect condition and a temperature of 22 degrees, the Spain national team underwent a light session, which began with a team talk from the manager.
De la Fuente conveyed to his players the importance of the match and of extending their unbeaten run, which is three matches away from becoming the best in the history of the Spain national team.
The players then warmed up with continuous running amid a great atmosphere and with jokes, and had fun divided into two rondos with goalkeepers included to work on their footwork. After a few minutes, it became one in the centre of the pitch, with three international players inside the centre circle with the aim of stealing the ball.
Behind closed doors, De la Fuente focused on tactical aspects of Turkey, transferring to the pitch what he analysed in the video session, and they completed a match with a series of shots at the end.
