Northern Ireland coach Michael O'Neill said both Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal are going to be "world stars".

Northern Ireland coach Michael O'Neill praised the standard of Spain's young wingers after being thrashed 5-1 at Son Moix and said Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams are going to be "world stars".

"It's incredible what Lamine is doing at that age, like Nico Williams. They're going to be world stars," he told a press conference. The Northern Ireland coach acknowledged that Spain are at a different level and sees them ready to do well at the European Championships in Germany.

"We are not at Spain's level of quality, they know how to occupy the attacking areas well and they have quality at the highest level. We have a lot of players who are not used to games at this level but this result doesn't affect us, we know where we are and what awaits us next," he said.

"Spain go to the European Championship in Germany feeling that they can win it and I think it's fair considering their level. They are among the candidates with players who perhaps have less focus than those of other favourite teams," he added.
