Konrad Laimer, one of RB Leipzig's most promising players, will miss the game against Real Madrid. An ankle ligament injury has ruled him out of Wednesday's Champions League clash, but unfortunately it will not be the only game he misses.

RB Leipzig will be without Konrad Laimer for the game against Real Madrid. The midfielder suffered a left ankle ligament injury that will keep him out of action for "several weeks", the club announced.

"Konrad Laimer will be out for several weeks after picking up an ankle injury during the 3-0 win over Dortmund. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Konni," the statement said.

The Austrian stands out for his physical strength in a midfield where he plays more defensive duties. He is in charge of disrupting the opposition's play and giving balance to the team now coached by Marco Rose. The coach could use Amadou Haidara in his place.

Laimer has played 509 minutes in six games this season, all of them starts, although he came close to not starting the season with RB Leipzig. Bayern Munich made a strong bid for his signing, but his club eventually managed to keep him in their ranks.
