Lacazette made the breakthrough
It was beginning to look like the goal would never come for Arsenal against a resilient Atletico side, but just after the hour mark they got the breakthrough they needed.
Playing against 10 men, the 'Gunners' were dominating possession of the ball but couldn't make it count beforehand.
It all changed when Jack Wilshere picked up the ball on the left hand side.
He drove to the byline and delivered a floating cross to the back post, evading the arms of Jan Oblak in goal.
Lacazette out-jumped Gimenez at the back and nodded the ball into the net beyond the reach of Oblak, who could do nothing.
