Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos took to Twitter in the early hours of Monday morning to voice his displeasure with his side's kick-off time for their opening game of the season against Getafe.

'Los Blancos' emerged 2-0 winners in the game, with goals from Dani Carvajal and Gareth Bale ensuring Julen Lopetegui secured all three points in his first league game as Real Madrid boss.

However, the decision by LaLiga to have the game kick off at 22:15 local time had many critics, with there being a whopping 31,000 empty seats at the Bernabeu as the club recorded their lowest home attendance since 2009.

The players didn't appear to be impressed either, with Kroos taking to Twitter to post a photo of him applauding the fans at full-time looking particularly tired, along with the amusing caption: "I am happier than it seems, but usually I am asleep at this time."

The bad news for the German is that Real Madrid's next game on Sunday is away to Girona, again kicking off at 22:15.
