After Militao's goal just before half-time, Real Madrid went in search of a second goal against Cadiz which seemed like it would not come. Cadiz's positive strategy led to frustration among the Madrid players.
Time was passing at the Santiago Bernabeu and Ancelotti's men were just 1-0 up. However, Toni Kroos ended up doubling their advantage.
The German missed the match against Rayo Vallecano due to his red card against Girona. Nevertheless, the Italian coach was able to count on him for this match and he proved to be key. His goal in the 70th minute made it 2-0 and given Cadiz pulled one back as Madrid went on to win 2-1, Kroos' strike proved to be decisive.
After another corner, the home side tried to head the ball through Militao once again. On this occasion, Cadiz cleared the ball out to just outside the penalty area and the German was there to connect with an extremely powerful volley which went into the bottom of Conan Ledesma's goal.
