Aleksandar Kolarov bagged the first goal of the game in Sunday's Group E clash between Serbia and Costa Rica, swinging in a lovely free-kick.

Serbia were awarded a free-kick in the 56th minute of the tie, after David Guzman dragged Aleksandar Mitrović back around 30 yards out. Guzman was also shown yellow for the offence.

The set-piece was placed in a dangerous area, just right of centre, and Roma defender Aleksandar Kolarov stepped up to take it.

The former Manchester City man made great use of the opportunity, curling a wonderful strike over the wall and into the top right corner of the net.

Keylor Navas did his best, but there was no stopping the sensational delivery, and Kolarov put Serbia 0-1 up with just over 30 minutes left to play.
