Lionel Messi continues to be showered with praise wherever he goes. The most recent person to fall at his feet was Ronald Koeman, the Dutch coach.

The Dutch coach hailed the Barcelona star as the best in the history of football. When questioned on who he thought was the best of the players he had met, he said Messi with no hesitation.

He was asked again about the best player, who was born on the same day as him, this time he responded saying Ronaldinho, "because he has played for Barcelona", leaving others out such as Matthaus, Jordi Alba and Griezmann.

Koeman, who was a Barcelona idol in the 90s and a goalscorer in the first Champions League in the history of the Catalan club, showed his love for the player who continues to make history.

Lionel Messi returned to play for his country this Saturday after a break after the World Cup in Russia. The Barcelona forward, however, was unable to avoid defeat during Argentina's match against Venezuela.
