Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp complained at the press conference before the Champions League match against Atalanta about the Premier League plan for the return of fans to stadiums. He does not understand the plans because he believes that the size of the stadiums is not taken into account.
Jürgen Klopp has questioned the English government's decision to place a limit of up to 4,000 fans in the stadiums, regardless of the capacity of the stadiums.
In the run-up to the Champions League match against Atalanta, the German coach questioned the new measures that will come into force from 2 December onwards, which will allow up to 4,000 fans in areas with a lower incidence of the virus to enter football matches.
"Obviously, this is good news, but I don't understand why you can still fit 2,000 people into a stadium with a capacity of 60,000 just as you can fit 2,000 people into a stadium with a capacity of 9,000. I really don't understand it," said the German at a press conference.
This measure implies that the number of fans allowed will vary according to the level of incidence, with a maximum of 4,000 for the lowest, 2,000 for category 2 and no fans for category 3. It will be this Thursday when the Government announces which regions will be in which categories.
The Premier League was planning the return of fans for October 1st, but the upsurge of cases in the UK forced a halt to this project, which will be resumed when the current confinement in the country ends.
