Real Madrid shot-stopper Keylor Navas will undergo minor surgery to his Achilles after the injury ruled him out of the Copa America Centenario with Costa Rica.
The 29-year-old was struggling after the Champions League final victory, and underwent medical assessment by Dr Jan van Dijk in Amsterdam on Monday. The doctor and his club then decided that surgery was necessary, and the player will have to undergo "a minimally invasive endoscopy in his left heel".
It is an ongoing problem for the goalkeeper, who had to miss Costa Rica's Gold Cup campaign last year as well as Madrid's final La Liga game of the season.
It is believed that the procudure will take place this Thursday in Madrid.
