Goalkeeper Nick Pope was sent off against Liverpool after a huge mistake in attempting to clear a headed ball and will miss the Carabao Cup final. Newcastle's third-choice goalkeeper Loris Karius is likely to start, as Martin Dubravka have already played one Carabao Cup game for Manchester United.

Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope has become one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. However, on Saturday he made a huge mistake against Liverpool.

On a clearance from the Reds, the ball took a strange turn and the goalkeeper, who dived to head the ball ended up catching it with both hands to prevent Salah from scoring. The referee had to send off the goalkeeper and, according to the 'Daily Mail', he will miss the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United.

As if that wasn't enough, substitute goalkeeper Martin Dubravka will not be able to replace Pope either. The Slovakian played one game in the aforementioned competition in the Red Devils' jersey before the club decided to end the loan early.

Newcastle's third-choice goalkeeper Loris Karius will therefore be chosen for the all-important clash in the Magpies' title race.
