Harry Kane is still unable to forget the penalty he missed the in the latest World Cup which meant that England went home at the quarter-final stage. That is what the England captain had to say.
When speaking to the 'Evening Standard', the Tottenham footballer claimed that it is a mistake which he will remember for his whole life, but he made it clear that it will not affect him personally or professionally: "I'll probably remember it for the rest of my life, but that's part of the game. It won't affect how I am as a player or a person. I'll keep on working hard to improve".
He added that "after what happened, I just wanted to play again as quickly as possible and get it out of my head. It's something you've got to deal with... It was a hard moment for me. It's never easy to overcome that sort of thing, but it's part of the highs and lows of out sport".
In fact, Kane showed that he has managed to get it out of his thoughts, after scoring a brace in the 0-4 win over Crystal Palace: "I had a bit of time off after, just to think, and it's given me more hunger to achieve great things. Therefore nights like this are always good for me and the team, and it was much needed after recent results".
