Bayern Munich goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer urged Bayern Munich to ‘turn’ the pressure of the atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabeu for Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid into ‘something positive’ as well as ‘having confidence’ in themselves.
"Emotionally, we are up against a great team. But we have to remain ourselves and have confidence in ourselves and in our team-mates. We have to help each other. We can't panic. We have to turn the pressure into something positive. If we can do that, we'll be a contender for the final,’ he told the press conference.
"I've not come here feeling anxious. We're very confident and know how good a performance we put in last week. We also know who we're up against. When you get the chance to beat Real at home, then you'll get it here too."
"It depends on the form of both teams. The difference can be the first goal, to see who scores the first. At home, we failed because we didn't take the opportunity to score first, but, when we face a team like Real Madrid, it all depends on the details. We are all very focused and we don't want to make the slightest mistake because both teams have great attacking players".
"Harry Kane is going to be a very important factor for us because he is capable of scoring a goal with any pass he receives," he added of one of his team's stars. The goalkeeper said he is not thinking about the possibility of the tie going to penalties.
