Harry Kane is very happy to end the curse that meant he had never scored in August, but insists he now needs to push on in the season.

Coming off the back of a World Cup where he finished as the tournament's top scorer, many thought this could be the season where Harry Kane ended the curse that meant that he had never scored in the Premier League in August.

The England national team captain could not get rid of this bizarre statisitic in the first game of the new season against Newcastle, but managed to do so against Fulham when he curled in on 77 minutes.

"Yeah, it's always nice, as a striker you want to score in every game so whenever you've got something like this on your back you just want to get it off and score and move on," he told 'Sky Sports'.

"Thankfully I scored and we won which is the most important thing and now we've got a big game next Monday night [against Manchester United]."

Kane scored an incredbile 52 goals in all competitions last season, and will hope to get somewhere near that this season to maintain the impressive reputation that saw him linked with Real Madrid over the summer.
