Tottenham took over the King Power Stadium with Harry Kane boosting his chances of finishing as the Premier League's top scorer.

It was a slow start as both teams tested each other and, despite menacing runs from Vardy and Mahrez, Tottenham had the first chance to go ahead. Kane slid a pass through for Son, who scuffed his effort wide.

The South Korean was unlucky in the opening minutes, missing up to three clear chances. At the other end, Mahrez threaded the ball to Jamie Vardy who fired straight at Lloris.

Pochettino threw his hands up in frustration as he witnessed Son sky yet another effort at goal, this time when he was in plenty of space and all he had to was pick his spot to finish past Schmeichel.

The visitors did not look on point with both Kane and Sissoko firing their efforts off target. Just when Leicester began to look dangerous on the counterattack, Alderweireld played a great long ball which Son latched on to, and this time the striker did well to pull the ball back from the byline for Kane to sweep the ball into the bottom corner.

And the Korean made up for his initial errors as he finally managed to get on the scoresheet in the 36th minute. Alli played a lovely chip in between the defenders for Son to volley the ball into the bottom corner.

Tottenham continued to go forward, moving the ball around well against a powerless Leicester, who were glad to hear the whistle go for half time.

It was an appropriate response from the Foxes as they charged out in the second half to try and set Spurs on the back foot. After a couple of chances at either end, Pochettino's team looked to slow the game down a bit, but the Foxes still managed to pull one back.

Lloris raced off his line to deal with a long ball aimed at Vardy, but the ball eventually fell to Chilwell who kept his cool to get into the box and slide a composed finish past Vertonghen.

However, Tottenham hit back straight away, with Kane scoring his 24th goal of the season to level with Lukaku. Alderweireld's cross was headed back across goal by Wanyama, for the England striker to nod in from a couple of yards out.

Shakespeare went for an attacking substitution as he introduced Gray in the place of defender Benalouane, but a few minutes later Spurs scored their fourth of the night. Son cut inside brilliantly to find the bottom corner with a curling shot from outside the penalty area.

The visitors had many chances to score through Sissoko or Janssen, but it was down to Kane to bang in the goals as he went clear at the top of the goalscoring charts. First, he cut inside to wrong-foot Schmeichel with a shot the other way, and then he picked a similar spot to drive the ball into the net in stoppage time.

Harry Kane will be over the moon as he goes two goals clear of Lukaku at the top of the goalscoring table with one game left to play.
