Genoa were the first side to defeat Juventus in Serie A this season. The 'Old Lady' travelled to Genoa without Crisitiano Ronaldo and felt the effects of their Champions League exertions in midweek.

Without Cristiano Ronaldo, Allegri gave Dybala the responsability of leading the side in Genoa. A tricky game for the away team, who were exhausted after their amazing feat against Atletico last Tuesday in Turin.

With nothing left in the tank and mentally exhausted after the European game, Juve visited a Genoa side who were very keen to win. Prandelli took advantage of Juve's much changed side to get the three points. As the game went on, Genoa pushed forward and were unfazed by a toothless Juve attack. Juve meanwhile, were still on the team bus.

Dybala was unable to create any chance and lift his team, who were overwhelmed by the fast start from the home side led by Kouame, Sanabria and Lazovic. Not even a Genoa penalty, which was later taken away by the VAR, managed to spark Juve into action.

Juventus seemed to pick up a little after the half-time team talk and even had the ball in the back of the net. Dybala took advantage of a run by Cancelo to hit home, but it remained 0-0 after another VAR intervention in Genoa, where Prandelli won the tactical battle on the bench. Pandev and then Sturaro combined to make it 1-0 with the ex-Juve player's first touch of the ball.

After setting up Sturaro for the first goal, Pandev also left his mark on the scoresheet by scoring the second after a powerful strike which went across the goalkeeper, Perin, who was left for dead.

Two blows which downed Juventus, who lost their first league game all season. A defeat for which Cristiano Ronaldo was absent for and it was the first game which the Bianconneri had failed to score in this campaign.
