Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin told 'EFE' on Friday that Julian Alvarez will remain at the club, vowing to "help" and "nurture" the forward to unlock his "full potential" while insisting the Argentine is vital to the team's European ambitions.

"Atletico de Madrid, like all major clubs, are built upon world-class talent, and I have no doubt that Julian is exactly that, as well as being an exemplary professional. We must compete through our core values, our academy, and the finest external talent we can recruit," he told 'EFE' when questioned on the striker's future.

"We are going to support Julian Alvarez and continue to look after him so he can reach his full potential, because he is essential if we are to remain competitive among Europe's elite. It must be understood that Julian has not been well-advised professionally in recent months," he cautioned.

He added: "We cannot allow rival clubs and their media mouthpieces to dictate our actions, steer our sporting strategy, or show us any form of disrespect."

"That is precisely what they are after: to sow division. We may not possess their financial might, but we have our values. The Atleti faithful will not allow them to poison our environment. Atleti is at its strongest when we are united," Miguel Angel Gil emphasised.

Atletico de Madrid have repeatedly maintained that their star striker is not for sale, pointing to his 500-million-euro release clause amid persistent links to Barcelona and comments made by the forward during the 2026 World Cup, where he appeared to angle for a move to the Catalan giants.

While reports have emerged in recent hours regarding Arsenal's interest in the Argentine, Atletico de Madrid remain resolute that Julian Alvarez is going nowhere, with his current deal set to run until June 2030.
