Liverpool started the season in the Premier League in the best fashion with a goal in the 26th minute against Norwich City. Diogo Jota scored after a poor control by Mohamed Salah.

The first matchday of the 2021-22 Premier League season was very eventful and Liverpool got off to the perfect start thanks to a Diogo Jota goal.

It all came in the 26th minute when Alexander-Arnold got down the right flank, he crossed into the area and, after a bad control by Salah on the edge of the box, Jota was one on one and beat goalkeeper Krul.

Klopp's Liverpool got off to a strong start. They wanted to put their bad season last time behind them and start on a high. Last season, they lost Van Dijk to injury, but he started this time.

Diogo Jota started ahead of Roberto Firmino and Salah on the left and Mane on the right were the other two spots up front.

The Reds were far better than Norwich in the first half and the goal saw Klopp's men become more comfortable on the field of play. Van Dijk was leading the Liverpool defence after a large injury.
