Benfica's Jonas Gonçalves, former teammate of Joao Félix, praised the Atletico Madrid player during his time on 'Radio Marca'. The Brazilian striker confessed that he tried to be like a father to the promising striker.

2020-21 is Joao Felix's greatest season so far. After the first year at Atlético Madrid with more doubts than certainties, the Portuguese footballer is showing all his potential.

The 20-year-old striker has scored seven goals and two assists so far, only two goals and one assist below the balance with which he finished last season. At Benfica, his previous club, they are enjoying his high performance.

Jonas Gonçalves, Benfica player, praised him in statements to 'Radio Marca': "At Benfica he also had a period of adaptation. I am sure that he will succeed at Atleti".

"I tried to be a father to Joao Felix in Benfica. From the beginning he stood out. I always carry him in my heart. Portugal was too small for him, he always had a lot of talent", he added.
