Atletico Madrid have entered the closing stages of the season in full swing. The 'Colchoneros' president Enrique Cerezo gave an interview to 'Radio Marca' in which he reviewed a large part of the Madrid side current affairs.
However, the president began by recalling previous eras and talking about his work at the helm of the club: "120 years of history is a long time. The Jesus Gil era was wonderful. There were no triumphs, but there was a lot of love and affection for the club. To preside over the club is one of the best things that can happen to a man in life".
"Before the World Cup we didn't start well. We had mistakes and it seemed like the world was coming to an end. Now we are the best team in Europe," he continued. And he praised Antoine Griezmann: "He's fantastic. He knows where to place himself on the pitch. He has many years of football and experience.
Another name that was mentioned was that of Joao Felix and his future at the red and white club: "He is on loan and when the season is over we will see what happens. He is a player with a lot of talent and has the potential to be a star, although he still has a lot to learn".
Cerezo also gave his opinion on Simeone: "Simeone has a contract this year and next year. His place is at Atletico Madrid. If he is the best paid in the world it is because for us he is the best.
