According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have made initial contact to express their interest in Rennes' highly rated centre-back Jeremy Jacquet as the Gunners continue to plan both short- and long-term additions to their defensive line.

The 19-year-old recently extended his contract with the Ligue 1 side until 2029, but remains firmly on Arsenal's radar. While no formal negotiations have taken place, the club view him as a promising option for the future.

Jacquet is currently being considered as a potential reinforcement should there be departures in defence later this month.

However, Arsenal are also thought to be monitoring him with a longer-term view, possibly targeting 2026 as a more strategic move.

The French youth international has impressed with his maturity and composure at Rennes, drawing attention from several top clubs. Arsenal's early contact signals growing interest in securing the teenager before competition intensifies.
