According to various reports in Israel, billionaire Idan Ofer will buy a 15% stake in Atletico Madrid after a meeting with the Board of directors of the club from the Spanish capital.

These are new times for Atletico Madrid. After the Chinese multinational conglomerate, Wanda Group, bought a stake of the Los Rojiblancos, now it's the turn of an Israeli company.

Billionaire Idan Ofer, owner of the company 'Plus 500', will buy a stake in Atletico Madrid, or 15% to be exact, according to various media outlets from the country. This means that the Israeli businessman will assume ownership of a part of the La Liga outfit.

The newspaper 'Calcalist' report that the 62-year-old business tycoon is worth a whopping 2.6 billion dollars. The company 'Plus 500' became the main sponsors of Atletico Madrid back in 2015, in a deal worth 42.5 million euros over four years, and now they want to have a greater presence at the club.

A few days ago, Atletico director Miguel Angel Gil Marin and club president Enrique Cerezo travelled to Pekin to inform Wang Jianlin, president of Wanda, of their intentions to sell a stake in the club to another investor, according to Spanish publication 'Marca'.

Now, the big question at Atletico is how the shares will be distributed. Gil Marin holds 54% and Cerezo 18%, while the Wanda Group has 20%.
