San Siro or Giuseeppe Meazza, however you want to call it, could soon be closing. According to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' the stadium will be demolished in a few years to make way for another stadium which both teams will also share.

Although both are very close rivals, the Italian paper assures that Inter Milan will have approved of AC Milan's proposal of building a stadium which would be joint-owned by both teams as is the case at the moment. So there would still not be separation between the two clubs. There was talk at first that a possible demolition of San Siro would lead to both teams moving into different stadia, but that will not be the case.

Both clubs agree that the new ground will be built on the site of the old ground and would be built from scratch. Just like at the present time, the ground will be called San Siro for AC Milan games and Giuseppe Meazza for Inter ones.

Providing the Milan city council approves the agreement, Alessandro Antonello, part of the Inter board said that the two clubs would work together on the project and that the new stadium could be ready for the 2022-23 season
